ABSTRACT
Abstract Chinese jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) is one of the most important deciduous tree fruits in China, with substantial economic and nutritional value. Jujube was domesticated from its wild progenitor, (Z. var. spinosa), both have high medicinal Here we report 767.81- 759.24-Mb haplotype-resolved assemblies a dry-eating ‘Junzao’ (JZ) accession (SZ), using combination multiple sequencing strategies. Each assembly yielded two complete genomes at telomere-to-telomere (T2T) level, ~81.60 69.07 Mb structural variations were found between haplotypes within JZ SZ, respectively. Comparative genomic analysis revealed large inversion on each chromosomes 3 4 numerous genes affected by variations, some which associated starch sucrose metabolism. A large-scale population 672 accessions that originated lower reaches Yellow River initially local sites. It spread widely then independently Shanxi–Shaanxi Gorge middle River. In addition, identified new selection signals regions genomes, are involved tissue development, pollination, other aspects morphology fertilization domestication. conclusion, our study provides high-quality reference insights into domestication history jujube.
