ABSTRACT
Cypermethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide with high insecticidal activity, low mammalian toxicity, and biodegradability. The present study aimed to determine the acute toxicity evaluate secondary toxic effects of commercial formulation cypermethrin on silkworm Philosamia ricini Hutt Northeast India. potential genotoxicity hemocyte was examined by comet assay, caspase activation, annexin V affinity assay. Alteration in nutritional physiology histoarchitecture gut region evaluated. Additionally, immunotoxicological effect studied phenoloxidase (PO), lysozyme abundance circulating hemocytes. LC50 value at 24-, 48-, 72-, 96-h exposure period recorded as 185.96, 105.34, 72.42, 58.41 µg/liter, respectively. Approximately sevenfold increase mean tail length observed 24 h posttreatment sublethal concentrations cypermethrin. also induced apoptosis activated reaction Moreover, significant decrease digestive enzyme activity higher In cypermethrin-exposed groups, alteration form ruptured microvilli thin, deformed, fused mucous layer. PO altered concentration Total count reduced 10587.10, 10052.30, 9234.30, 8842.60 per mm3 10, 20, 30, 40 results offer new insights into negative consequences very formulations nonmulberry
