ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT We present a Chandra study of surface brightness fluctuations in the diffuse intracluster medium Perseus Cluster. Our utilizes deep, archival imaging cluster core as well new mosaic 29 short $\, 5\,$-ks observations extending eight different directions out to radii $r_{500} \sim 2.2\, r_{2500}$. Under assumption that distribution densities at given radius is log-normally distributed, two important quantities can be derived from width log-normal density on spatial scale: bias, equal square root clumping factor C; and one-component turbulent velocity, vk,1D. forward-model all contributions measured brightness, including astrophysical particle background components, account for Poisson nature signal. Measuring 1 arcmin2 regions, spanning radial range $0.3\rm {-}2.2\, r_{2500}$ ($7.8\rm {-}57.3\,$ arcmin), we find small moderate average bias around $3{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$ below $1.6\, also infer an velocity these V1D < 400 km s−1. Direct confirmation our results velocities inferred should possible using X-ray calorimeter spectrometers flown aboard XRISM Athena observatories.
