ABSTRACT
Toxoplasmosis is highly prevalent in northern Iran and immunocompromised individuals are more susceptible to this infection. The present study aimed determine the seroprevalence, parasitism genetic diversity of Toxoplasma gondii among patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapy Iran.A total 350 serum samples obtained from were collected laboratory centers Iran. Immunodiagnosis DNA detection accomplished by ELISA PCR. Thereafter, multiplex-nested PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism was used for genotyping T. gondii. In general, out patients, 264 (75.4%) 9 (2.57%) cases positive anti-T. IgG IgM, respectively. Moreover, 19 (5.43%) contained DNA. From samples, 10 high-quality sharp non-smear bands selected genotypes gondii. Accordingly, classified as genotype #1 (type II clonal; n=4, 40%), #2 III n=3, 30%), #10 I n=2, 20%) #27 variant; n=1, 10%).As evidenced results, due high prevalence gondii, at serious risk severe toxoplasmosis its complications. Therefore, oncologists need regard critical health problem a matter requiring urgent attention.
