ABSTRACT
The influence of four different harvest times on the bull's eye rot 'Cripps Pink' apple caused by Neofabraea spp. was investigated in two orchards harvested at times. In addition, a control strategy based chemical treatments performed preharvest or postharvest evaluated. Regression analysis between time and disease incidence revealed high r2 values (>0.75). All fungicide significantly (P < 0.0085) reduced incidence; however, thiophanate-methyl (achieving >87% control) more effective than mixture pyraclostrobin boscalid (<80.7%) fludioxonil (<57.6%), all trials. Compared with nontreated fruit, treatment ethylene inhibitor 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) halved infection three experiments. However, combination plus one 1-MPC suppressed to 0.00001) greater degree >87.5% single (<65%) 1-MCP (<80%) tested alone.
