ABSTRACT
A recently described actinomycete species (Streptomyces araujoniae ASBV-1(T)) is effective against many phytopathogenic fungi. In this study, we evaluated the capacity of to inhibit Botrytis cinerea development in strawberry pseudofruit, and identified chemical structures its bioactive compounds. An ethyl acetate crude extract (0.1 mg ml(-1)) ASBV-1(T) fermentation broth completely inhibited fungus growth pseudofruit under storage conditions. The was fractionated by preparative high-performance liquid chromatography; active fraction further tandem mass spectrometry. produced a multiantibiotic complex with ionophoric properties. This contained members macrotetralides class (including monactin, dinactin, trinactin, tetranactin) cyclodepsipeptide valinomycin, all which were B. cinerea. Furthermore, addition 2 mM MgSO4 1 ZnSO4 enhanced macrotetralide valinomycin production, respectively, culture broth. These compounds are considered be main molecules that S. produces control Their low moderate toxicity humans environment justifies application biological programs aim mitigate damage caused phytopathogen.
