ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Near-isogenic lines (NILs) with resistance for scald in seventh generation backcross 'Ingrid' as recurrent parent (RP) were tested seven differential isolates of Rhynchosporium secalis Norway and Canada. NILs 'Turk', 'Brier', 'CI 8162', 'La Mesita', 'Hispont', 'Atlas 46', 'Modoc', 'Hudson', 'Abyssinian', 'Steudelli', 2222' also evaluated field reactions. The genetic characterization the (degree isogeneity Ingrid) each other was carried out. molecular marker pattern shows that backcrossing program has resulted from 86.3 to 100% RP genome NILs, depending on system. On an average, 96% found NILs. There certain consistent (pairwise) differences between chromosomes 3H 7H. Both are known contain loci conferring R. secalis, indicating successful introgression donors into Approximately two-thirds observed RP-NIL polymorphisms linked assumed NIL. Based phenotypic analyses suggestions a more appropriate updated terminology genes barley made. proposed changes nomenclature indicate differentials available those lacking.
