ABSTRACT
Endothelial TRPV4 is a Ca 2+ entry channel critically involved in endothelium‐mediated dilation both conduit and resistance vascular beds. However the importance of this TRPV4‐mediated vasodilation vivo has not been well characterized. We investigated role blood pressure (BP) regulation under normal conditions response to hypertensive challenge. The study was performed TRPV4‐deficient (TRPV4 −/− ) wild‐type (WT) mice implanted with radiotelemetry device for continuous recording mean arterial (MAP), heart rate (HR) activity. Basal MAP tends be lower (101 ± 3 mmHg, n=3, p=0.054) than WT controls (108 1 n=4), whereas HR comparable (565 11 bpm) (571 8 bpm). Hypertension induced by administration L‐NAME (0.5 g/L), nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, drinking water 7 days.
