ABSTRACT
OBJECTS To examine the prevalence of obesity and related metabolic factors in Tibetan immigrants living high altitudes. METHODS A total 149 aged 20 years over were recruited 2016 Ladakh, India. Anthropometric indices biochemical measured. Obesity classified by body mass index (BMI) was defined using World Health Organization Asia‐Pacific criteria. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) American Heart Association National Heart, Lung Blood Institute definitions. RESULTS Men older had greater height, fasting glucose, uric acid than women. The overweight, general obesity, central 23.4%, 42.6%, 10.6% men 7.8%, 64.7%, 69.6%, 33.3% women, respectively. higher age groups.
