ABSTRACT
The accuracy of partial weightbearing was assessed in six healthy volunteers and 23 patients who had sustained either a fracture lower limb or surgery. They were trained to weightbear partially using the conventional bathroom scale method gait laboratory force platforms. amount weight exerted on involved during three-point crutch walking determined. Four mean 27% body more than required. remaining two 8.5% less Of patients, 21 35.3% that prescribed 11.97% prescribed. In both groups there little relationship between actual weightbearing. None able reproduce extent for which they method, confirming this technique instructing is inaccurate.
