ABSTRACT
In Brief Study Design. A retrospective radiographic study on the type of surgically treated idiopathic scoliosis, with a prospective reliability type-related fusion guide. Objectives. To identify and classify define its related levels by new classification system. Summary Background Data. Some methods for scoliosis have been suggested. However, poor intraobserver reproducibility interobserver were experienced in these studies, not appropriate guiding surgical planning. Methods. total 427 cases reviewed. Preoperative postoperative standing anteroposterior, lateral, preoperative supine side-bending radiograph analyzed using Scoliosis Research Society definition curve apex. The resulting was tested reliability, 6 surgeons. Apical frequencies determined each type, testing guide performed. Results. Three major types 13 subtypes identified, which Peking Union Medical College I accounted 56.62%, II 42.16%, III 1.22%. 85% (kappa coefficient 0.832), while 91% 0.898). Each had corresponding levels. 152 performed according to classification. All followed over 18 months, no decompensation noted. Conclusion. is one system combine level, it much higher than King Further prospectivestudies would help clarify expand this based apex curves has useful selecting approach better
