ABSTRACT
Objective: ‘Athlets heart’, which means hypertrophy and remodeling of left ventricular tissue induced by heavy exercises, is known searched for a long time. The increased muscle mass would need an perfusion require the coronary circulation. But arterioles adaptation in this process not well influence gender on at all, so far. We aimed to study differences sport-adaptation coronaries. Design method: Young adult Wistar rats were distributed into four groups, Male Female sedentary animals trained swimming with 8 each group. exercise program lasted 12 weeks, 200 min/day. Sedentary swam 5 Ventricular function was checked echocardiography. At end research intramural resistance arteries (200 μm outer diameter) removed examined pressure arteriography followings: contractility (spontaneous TxA2 agonist tones), adenosine relaxation, endothelial dilation (bradykinin), tangential wall stress elastic modulus. Elastica stained resorcin-fuchsin histological sections. Results: Relative heart both male female (p < 0.001) without arterial hypertension, ejection fraction 0.001), fractional shortening as well. walls became thicker isobaric been reduced 0.05). Both modulus physiological pressures density inner membrane spontaneous 0.05) tones endothelium dependent (bradykinin, p independent (adenosine, relaxations more effective. While swimmer we measured stronger contraction than animals, vasodilation improved compared females groups 0.025). Conclusions: range vascular reactivity genders, but its mechanism different between males females.
