KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN GENERAL POPULATION: RESULTS OF A COMMUNITY PHARMACY SCREENING PROGRAM

ABSTRACT
Objective: Hypertension is a cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk factor. Prevention of hypertension mediated organ damage main health problem. Guidelines underlines the importance screening educational programs in general population role non-medical sanitary subjects, particularly pharmacists. This study evaluated knowledge about afferent to community pharmacies Piedmont Ligury. Design method: A questionnaire has been collected from 2731 pharmacy costumers, participating an arterial program. It included three sections prevalence hypertension, hypertension-mediated preventive lifestyle behaviour. Blood pressure was measured with Omron HEM 1040-E device.
