ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The need for palliative care in our health system has exponentially increased the past few years as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, aging population, and increasing number people living with serious illnesses. While nurses play critical role delivering care, many lack confidence knowledge, causing practice gaps clinical psychological management seriously ill patients. collective burden pandemic demonstrated importance education training, specifically communication, symptom management, continuing education. All nurses, including nursing students, transitioning practicing should be trained to offer generalist (or primary) accordance American Association Colleges Nursing Essentials: Core Competencies Professional Education . Provision holistic, relationship-based, integrated patients their families is an ethical obligation all nurses.
