ABSTRACT
In Brief Objective: AutoNRT™ is the completely automatic electrically evoked compound action potential (ECAP) measuring algorithm in recently released Nucleus Freedom cochlear implant system. AutoNRT allows clinicians to automatically record T-NRT profiles that turn can be used as a guide for initial fitting. The consists of pattern recognition part judges if traces contain an ECAP and intelligent flow optimizes measurement parameters finds threshold (T-NRT). objective this study was determine how accurate, reliable, fast measurements are. Design: Data on more than 400 electrodes were collected multicenter clinical trial values determined by compared with determinations same data different human observers. Also, time took analyzed. Results: 90% cases, absolute difference between observer less 9 CL; median 3 CL. A second experiment, which group observers asked analyze NRT data, showed high variability T-NRT; some two experienced disagreed 30 current levels. Compared group, performed well "average" clinician, advantage are objective. Analysis timing average intraoperative 20 sec per electrode standard deviation 5 sec, suggesting total array 22 measured intraoperatively about 7 minutes average. Conclusions: provides comparable accuracy clinician but added benefit significant savings over manual recordings. This makes it valuable tool recipients. ECAP, reports results electrodes. Automatically thresholds those found implications discussed. conclusion: reliable offers similar T-NRTs.
