ABSTRACT
A prospective study involving 56 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) was conducted. To investigate the outcomes and prognostic factors for CSM after nonsurgical treatment. The superiority of surgical treatment over has not been confirmed in mild forms CSM. Outcomes are well understood.Clinical signs symptoms were assessed by Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores. Nonsurgical selected (JOA >or=13 patients). Seventy enrolled between 1995 2003. The follow-up rate 80.0%. Prognostic that exacerbate clinical examined, such as age, gender, period, developmental or dynamic on plain lateral radiograph, high signal intensity area T2-weighted sagittal MRI, extent maximum cord compression; partial circumferential spinal compression, axial MRI. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analysis carried out to test significant factors. There was, average, no statistically deterioration JOA scores treatment. However, 11 deteriorated only factor significantly exacerbated compression segment Indeed, 10 33 MRI treatment.Outcomes during generally good shown average Surgical can be considered this factor.
