ABSTRACT
Retrospective multi-institutional study. To investigate the incidence of neurological deficits after cervical laminoplasty for ossification posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL).According to analysis long-term results, OPLL has been reported as a safe and effective alternative procedure with few complications. However, perioperative complication rates have not well described.Subjects comprised 581 patients (458 men 123 women; mean age: 62 ± 10 years; range: 30-86 years) who had undergone at 27 institutions between 2005 2008. Continuous-type was seen in 114, segmental-type 146, mixed-type 265, local-type 24, judged 32 patients. Postoperative complications within 2 weeks were analyzed detail. Cobb angle C2 C7 (C2/C7 angle), maximal thickness, occupying rate investigated. Pre- postoperative magnetic resonance imaging performed on complications.Open-door conducted 237, double-door 311, other types 33 Deterioration lower-extremity function occurred 18 (3.1%).
