ABSTRACT
The utility of many molecules as tumor markers in melanoma has been investigated with different results. aims this study was to compare the value tyrosinase mRNA by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) peripheral blood and serum S-100 protein patients at stages disease. We have studied 90 samples corresponding that had diagnosed melanoma. clinical staging time sampling performed according American Join Committee on Cancer guidelines. measured enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (normal range: 0-0.150 microg) presence assessed RT-PCR.Median progression-free survival 281 days for positive it not reached negative (P = 0.03). Median progression free 213 elevated normal level < 0.001). overall (OS) 396 0.0096). OS 282 In a multivariate analysis, both significant prognostic (chi(2) test).RT-PCR are factors higher sensitivity specificity than tyrosinase.
