ABSTRACT
Neuroendocrine tumor originates from several sites. This study was conducted to reveal the differences in clinical course of neuroendocrine tumors by origin. We reviewed data patients diagnosed with between January 1996 and July 2007.A total 371 were enrolled [pancreas 60, gastrointestinal (GI) tract 210, lung 35, other sites 46, unknown primary 20]. The site correlated stage (P=0.000) grade (P=0.000). At diagnosis, metastasis observed 28.3%, 6.7%, 2.9% cases pancreatic, GI, pulmonary tumors, respectively. Grade 3 7.7%, 0.5%, 0.0% tumors. Overall survival 116.0 months (95% confidence interval, 86.9-145.1). pancreatic tumor, not reached GI 120.0 (P=0.024). recurrence rate 18.0%. It 20.9%, 11.9%, (P=0.062). In multivariate analysis, stage, grade, age prognostic for overall (OS). Stage, sex disease-free survival.Neuroendocrine pancreas, tract, showed different characteristics.
