ABSTRACT
The aim of the present cross-sectional study was to investigate clustering cardiometabolic risk factors in premenopausal and postmenopausal Asian Indian women.A total 214 healthy women (25-65 y) from Bolpur-Santiniketan area, West Bengal, India, took part study. were categorized into two groups, namely, (n = 161) 53). Anthropometric measures, minimum waist circumference (WC) sum four (biceps + triceps subscapular suprailiac) skinfolds (SF4), measured accordingly. Intra-abdominal visceral fat (IVF) also measured. Left arm systolic (SBP) diastolic (DBP) blood pressure taken participants. Metabolic profiles, cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density (LDL), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), insulin, testosterone, estrogen, accordingly. The identified factor 1: WC, SF4, IVF, TC, TG; 2: HDL, SBP, DBP, insulin; 3: TG, LDL, testosterone; 4: FPG, estrogen. These cumulatively explained 72.97% phenotypic variation. In women, DBP; IVF; together 90.71% variation factors. No common underlying physiological variables indicate that a single axis for phenotypes is highly unlikely.
