ABSTRACT
In Brief Objective: Concerns exist about the risk of endometrial cancer cells spreading into peritoneal cavity after fluid minihysteroscopy. The aim our study was to evaluate 5-year incidence pelvic recurrences in women affected by early-stage carcinoma (stage IA or IB) who did not undergo preoperative hysteroscopy with low pressure (<70 mm Hg) saline uterine distention. Methods: A total 140 were randomized two groups 70 underwent diagnostic minihysteroscopy before surgical staging. Women followed up every 6 months for at least 5 years. Diagnosis recurrence based on a positive result clinical examination and/or vaginal cytology magnetic resonance imaging/positron emission tomography scan. Univariate analysis disease-free survival performed Kaplan-Meier method and curves compared using long-rank test. Results: No difference observed between (5.7% 8.5% cases control group, respectively). After mean duration follow-up 62 months, 2 (2.85%) group 3 (4.28%) found. significant found when rate compared. Overall rates projected significantly different groups. Conclusions: Preoperative low-pressure does increase intraperitoneal transport during follow-up. It seem modify rate, survival, overall although multicenter trials long-term are required oncologic outcomes this procedure. mini-hysteroscopy
