ABSTRACT
To identify and quantify angiogenic inflammatory cytokines in aqueous vitreous humor eyes with untreated uveal melanoma to analyze clinicopathologic correlations.Intraocular fluid samples of patients (uveal n = 21, 34) controls (cataract 41, vitreomacular traction 35, 36) were taken intraoperatively analyzed using Luminex xMAP suspension array technology. Beadlyte kits used for detection 28 different cytokines.Flt-3 ligand, interleukin (IL) 1α, IL-6, IL-8, interferon-γ inducible protein (IP)-10, monocyte chemoattractant 1 (MCP-1), macrophage platelet-derived growth factor AA, vascular endothelial significantly elevated when compared controls. Eotaxin was aqueous, IL-7 RANTES eyes. Interferon-γ 10, 1α (aqueous vitreous), Flt-3 MCP-1 (vitreous) correlated tumor dimensions. Further correlations found between infiltration Bruch membrane AA (vitreous). Analyzing 16 paired samples, IL-7, MCP-1, vitreous, IL-1α samples.A range angiogenic, inflammatory, chemotactic supports the link inflammation tumorigenesis.
