ABSTRACT
To evaluate the effect of 6 weeks administration beclomethasone nasal spray on intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with ocular hypertension or controlled primary open-angle glaucoma.Randomized double-masked trial. Patients were randomized to twice daily versus placebo saline spray. There a total 4 study visits: baseline and 2, 4, after starting Each visit was at same time within 1-hour window. Primary outcome measure IOP. Secondary measures included visual acuity, anterior segment changes, patient reported side effects, compliance. Study endpoint from start treatment an IOP increase >20% baseline. A sample size calculation suggested that 8 each arm would be sufficient detect difference 3.2 mm Hg power 80%.Nineteen consecutive consenting completed study-9 steroid 10 arm. no statistically significant differences between groups characteristics, visit, change any point. At weeks, mean +0.50±1.52 +0.70±1.44 groups, respectively (P=0.77).Patients glaucoma showed evidence elevation use
