ABSTRACT
To analyse the presence of women on editorial teams emergency medicine journals and potential relationship between pre-eminence journal their presence.In this cross-sectional study, we examined 10 cited under heading 'Emergency Medicine' by Thomson Scientific in Journal Citation Reports 14 additional not but which publish investigations medicine. We evaluated board posted websites, determining number men occupying executive tasks, as well sex editor-in-chief each journal.We identified 372 people working (mean: 15.5, SD: 13.5), 49 being (13.2%). Of these people, 28 were editors-in-chief only one was female (3.6%). found no statistical differences indexed nonindexed regarding representation team or position editor-in-chief. Neither did find any using impact factor a surrogate marker.Very few are either positions journals, irrespective journal. It should be investigated whether negative bias underlies findings.
