ABSTRACT
The diagnosis of patients with acute dyspnoea is challenging, as clinical history and physical examination are often nondiagnostic inaccurate. Consequently, clinicians rely on the results chest radiography (CXR) to determine initial intervention guide further treatment. The purpose this study was prospectively assess sensitivity specificity ultrasonographic assessment jugular venous distension (US-JVD) for identifying pulmonary oedema CXR in dyspnoeic suspected congestive heart failure.US-JVD compared findings determined by radiology consultants blinded all information US-JVD measurements.US-JVD had a 98.2% [95% confidence interval (CI), 89.2-99.9] 42.9% (95% CI, 30.7-55.9), likelihood ratio positive 1.7 1.4-2.1), negative 0.04 0.006-0.3), CXR.US-JVD sensitive test failure.
