ABSTRACT
Objectives: Recent studies have shown that the high affinity of mesothelin-CA125 interaction might cause intracavitary tumor metastasis. We examined clinicopathologic significance and prognostic implication mesothelin CA125 expression in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Methods: Tissue samples from 66 adenocarcinomas were immunohistochemically examined. Proportion intensity constituent cells with analyzed classified as high-level expression, defined by more than 50% and/or moderate to strong staining, or low-level otherwise. Results: A level was correlated a higher histological grade (P = 0.049) blood vessel permeation 0.0006), whereas recurrence rate 0.015). The strongly 0.0041). Co-expression associated an unfavorable patient outcome 0.0062). Conclusions: This is first report showing co-expression adenocarcinoma, such poor prognosis. Our finding suggests these two factors plays significant role acquisition aggressive clinical behavior.
