ABSTRACT
A recently described lineage of lymphocytes, Th17 cells, has been associated with inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The aim this article was to assess the immunoexpression cytokines related lineage, interleukin-17 (IL-17) IL-23 in reticular erosive oral lichen planus (OLP). sample included 41 cases OLP (23 18 erosive) 10 fibrous hyperplasia (IFH). Lymphocytes exhibiting cytoplasmic immunostaining were counted. Epithelial also evaluated. There no statistical differences number IL-17 lymphocytes between (55.40 48.40, respectively) IFH (39.30 44.40, respectively). significantly higher found group (63.80) when compared (41.40) lesions (44.40) (P=0.019). Furthermore, epithelial immunopositivity for than (P=0.012 P=0.011, strong could suggest an important participation TCD4 response disorder.
