ABSTRACT
Cardiac involvement is an important prognostic factor in sarcoidosis, and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging with late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) can facilitate the identification of cardiac sarcoidosis (CS). In patients CS, we investigated LGE characteristics their relationship left ventricular (LV) function to identify those unique severely reduced LV function. We also between duration sarcoidosis.We retrospectively evaluated 19 CS diagnosed according 2006 revised guidelines Japanese Ministry Health Welfare who underwent CMR imaging. analyzed location using 17-segment subsegment (subepicardial, midwall, subendocardial, transmural) models ejection fraction (LVEF) sarcoidosis.Images 17 showed most frequently subepicardial layer. The total number affected segments correlated significantly LVEF (r=-0.84, P<0.0001) LV-diastolic volumes (r=0.88, P<0.0001). Transmural lesions were more common 35% or lower than exceeding (P=0.0004).
