ABSTRACT
Tensor fascia lata (TFL) musculocutaneous flaps often require a donor site graft when harvesting large flap. However, major drawback is that it also sacrifices the muscle. To overcome this disadvantage, we designed TFL perforator-based island flap was harvested from near defect and involved transposition within 90 degrees without full isolation of pedicles. We performed procedures on 17 23 flaps, compared outcomes these surgeries. The overall complication rate 27.5% (11 regions). There were 7 complications related to 4 perforator flaps. Although there no statistical differences between those groups, lower rates associated with involving procedure simple fast operation avoids sacrificing This decreases true techniques dissection around or pedicle.
