ABSTRACT
As long as resection of sagittal suture eliminates craniostenosis it leads to desired cranium broadening and shortening solely in the case children under six months age. In majority cases, especially older children, boat-shaped remains rather unchanged its effective modeling requires extensive dissection osteotomy whole vault (e.g., frontal, occipital parietal bones). Lauritzen's method is an alternative solution. It consists distraction bones with aid steel springs. order simplify improve efficacy treatment since 2002, authors originated application titanium-nickel rings model cranium. After sparing excision sutures shape letter "H" compressed ring given axis oval this form fixed osseous margins. The ring's expansion at same time broadens shortens vault. Material was analyzed from 7 (range, 9 4 years age), who were treated 2002-2006 because craniostenosis. Observations made so far good results indicate purposefulness discussed continuation.
