ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to evaluate sonographic findings metastatic cervical lymph nodes and differentiating them from benign ones in patients with head neck malignancy. In this study, 14 (12 female 2 male patients; mean age, 52.8 years (with region malignancy were evaluated ultrasonographically. gray-scale parameters, which included short- long-axis lengths, shape index, presence or absence hilar echoes cystic necrosis, parenchymal echogenicity echo texture, margin, color Doppler parameter including vascular pattern evaluated. Finally, compared pathologic results. following statistical analyses included: χ(2) test, Fisher exact independent-samples t-test.Overall, 88 According histopathologic results, 77% benign, 23% malignant. study's results showed that are accompanied significantly larger size, rounded shape, hilus, necrosis mixed peripheral pattern. parameters related minimal maximal axis diameter had highest sensitivity (85%), whereas vascularity 100% specificity detecting nodes. The our revealed there a considerable difference diagnostic value ones, between 4 specific regions.
