ABSTRACT
Pseudoaneurysm of the superficial temporal artery is an unusual complication. Diagnosis based on clinical findings and radiologic study. The standard treatment surgical ligation resection, other options include intervention, thrombin injection, conservative treatment. In this article, authors report several cases pseudoaneurysm suggest a protocol to manage artery. We conducted retrospective review 11 patients who underwent between April 2002 July 2011. According duration aneurysm, we divided pseudoaneurysms into 3 stages: “Acute” stage less than weeks, “Subacute” from weeks months, “Chronic” more months. Among were diagnosed with pseudoaneurysms, 7 treated by 2 treatment, 1 case intervention. There was no recurrence during follow-up periods. most successful resection. More recently, many nonsurgical treatments have been used, such as endovascular embolization, or coiling. Every method has its advantages disadvantages should be chosen according chronicity size pseudoaneurysm, patient’s status, including hemodynamic stability, aesthetic preferences, compliance. systematic depending patients’ preferences.
