ABSTRACT
Sepsis/multiple organ dysfunction syndrome is the leading cause of death in critically ill patients. Recently, it has been suggested that hydrogen gas (H2) exerts a therapeutic antioxidant activity by selectively reducing hydroxyl radical (•OH, most cytotoxic reactive oxygen species). We have found H2 inhalation significantly improved survival rate and damage septic mice with moderate or severe cecal ligation puncture. In present study, we investigated effects 2% treatment on zymosan (ZY)-induced generalized inflammation model. Here, for 60 min starting at 1 6 h after ZY injection, respectively, 14-day ZY-challenged from 10% to 70%. Furthermore, showed significant multiple characterized increase serum biochemical parameters (aspartate aminotransferase, alanine blood urea nitrogen, creatinine), as well lung, liver, kidney histopathological scores 24 which was attenuated treatment. addition, beneficial ZY-induced were associated decreased levels oxidative product, increased activities enzyme, reduced early late proinflammatory cytokines tissues. conclusion, this study provides evidence protects against damages model, suggesting potential use agent therapy conditions inflammation-related syndrome.
