Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in Patients Undergoing Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis

ABSTRACT
This case-control study assesses laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in patients with end-stage renal disease treated continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. Eleven receiving dialysis treatment and 33 without who had undergone an elective LC were compared. Medical records reviewed, laboratory values outcomes results analyzed. The group showed a higher frequency of associated previous abdominal surgery; lower hemoglobin platelet count; elevated alkaline phosphatase, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine values. Statistically significant between-group differences found regard to postoperative complications hospital stay days. One procedure each was converted open cholecystectomy. No patient the underwent peritonitis. other catheter-related occurred. may be performed low complication rates undergoing experienced team.
