Routine Use of Preoperative Cystourethroscopy on the Surgical Management of Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Organ Prolapse

ABSTRACT
Objectives To determine the impact of routine preoperative cystourethroscopy on surgical management urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Methods Retrospective review consecutive women undergoing surgery for and/or prolapse at a tertiary referral urogynecology center to whether use changed management. Patients with other indications were excluded. Results A total 283 charts reviewed which 235 met inclusion criteria. Five patients accounted 6 abnormal findings cystourethroscopic examination including 2 bladder calculi, lesions suspicious neoplasm, cases absent unilateral ureteric efflux. In only one case (0.5%) was plan altered. Conclusion The in low-risk being prepared is not required when no exist.
