ABSTRACT
Degloving injuries are severe and frequently underestimated lesions. Lower extremities the most commonly affected limbs. This injury is associated with a high morbidity mortality if mismanaged. The treatment of such patients still varies, clinical indicators for its prognosis scarce, some technical protocols also controversial.Between August 2002 July 2011, 102 skin avulsion 129 lower were treated immediate full-thickness graft following protocol radical debridement. grafts processed sharp scalpels in situ. They further secured multiple sutures after repositioning to improve take. Outcomes evaluated based on different patterns age groups.Three injury, that is, purely degloving (Pattern 1), involvement deep soft tissues 2), long-bone fractures 3), revealed. Among three patterns, much higher primary healing rates observed Patterns 1 2. Younger Pattern 3 achieved rate than old ones, whereas no differences regarding groups noted 2.The can be generally divided into patterns. preparation very simple prompt. management extremity grafting debridement feasible. Age has little impact take except cases 3) which an indicator unfavorable special attention required.Prognostic study, level IV; therapeutic V.
