ABSTRACT
This study aimed to define the taxonomic status of a phenetically distinct group 16 strains that corresponds Acinetobacter genomic species ‘close 13TU’, provisional calcoaceticus – baumannii (ACB) complex recognized by Gerner-Smidt and Tjernberg in 1993. These have been isolated different countries since early 1990s were mostly recovered from human clinical specimens. They compared with 45 reference representing known taxa ACB using methods relevant genus . Based on sequence analysis concatenated partial sequences (2976 bp) seven housekeeping genes, formed tight well-supported cluster (intracluster identity ≥98.4 %) was clearly separated other members (≤94.7 %). The supported average nucleotide values ≤91.7 % between whole genome representative strain NIPH 973 T (NCBI accession no. APOO00000000) those species. In addition, whole-cell matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) MS analyses indicated distinctness at protein level. Metabolic physiological tests revealed several typical features group, although they did not allow its reliable differentiation complex. We conclude represent novel species, for which we propose name seifertii sp. nov. type is ( = CIP 110471 CCUG 34785 CCM 8535 ).
