ABSTRACT
As part of a study the diversity planctomycetes, two novel strains, designated OJF2 T and OJF8, were isolated from sediments freshwater aquarium. The organisms chemoheterotrophic, spherical pink-pigmented, had an optimum growth temperature about 30–35 °C pH for around 7.5–8.5. predominant fatty acids C 18 : 1 ω9 c 16 0 . strains able to assimilate several sugars organic acids. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis confirmed affiliation these phylum ‘ Planctomycetes ’; they showed highest similarity type Singulisphaera acidiphila (92.4 %) Isosphaera pallida (91.9 %). On basis physiological, biochemical chemotaxonomic characteristics, OJF8 are considered represent species new genus order Planctomycetales , which name Aquisphaera giovannonii gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. strain ( = CECT 7510 DSM 22561 ).
