ABSTRACT
Strain BCRC 14193, isolated from soil, shared more than 99 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 11601T and velezensis 17467T. This strain was previously identified as B. amyloliquefaciens, based on DNA–DNA hybridization, but its DNA relatedness value 17467T 89 %. To investigate the of velezensis, partial encoding subunit B protein gyrase (gyrB) determined. high gyrB 14193 (98.4 %) all strains available (95.5–95.6 %). hybridization experiments revealed values between (74 reference (74–89 Based these data lack phenotypic distinctive characteristics, we propose a later heterotypic synonym amyloliquefaciens.
