ABSTRACT
We report the identification of a novel single-stranded, circular DNA virus isolated from bovine stool. The virus, named stool-associated (BoSCV), has genome comprising 2600 bases ssDNA, with two putative ORFs encoding replicase and capsid proteins, arranged inversely. stem–loop structure was located between 3′ ends ORFs, as in chimpanzee (ChimpSCV) unlike other viruses, including members families Circoviridae , Nanoviridae Geminiviridae . BoSCV also genetically similar to ChimpSCV, approximately 30 % identity proteins. A phylogenetic analysis based on protein showed that ChimpSCV are same clade. field survey using BoSCV-specific PCRs targeting ORF1 detected BoSCV-like sequences porcine stool samples. appears belong new genus viruses.
