ABSTRACT
This paper proposes an approach for pedestrian tracking using dead reckoning on a standard smartphone. Previous studies report pedestrians when the mobile device is carried in defined way within period. presents new which extends and enhances previous methods by identifying three typical modes of carrying during walking that fact to enhance accuracy. Based real-time identification modes, light-weight step based algorithm developed with novel length estimation model. The system implemented commercial off-the-shelf smartphone equipped built-in Inertial Measurement Unit. It achieves localization performance typically sub-meter error.
