ABSTRACT
A Mach-Zehnder interferometer is formed in the transverse plane of an optical fibre. This exploited to monitor temperature any given fibre real time, without predesigned sensing elements engineered into and a need access ends. The by refraction at air-glass interface subsequent internal reflections within response then measured quadrature phase shift detection interference pattern. For context, this compared finite element modelling previously studied Fabry-Pérot configuration. was from room up 1174 <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$^\circ$</tex-math></inline-formula> C with error notation="LaTeX">$\pm 2.6\%$</tex-math></inline-formula> for type interferometer. measurement techniques presented offer useful tool precise applications such as post-processing.
