ABSTRACT
This paper details the development and preliminary testing of GaitSkin, a wearable haptic interface designed for generating sensorimotor conflicts during locomotion. The system leverages real-time gait tracking wireless vibrotactile skin patch to produce between motor actions tactile feedback with potential applications in neuroscience research particularly induce hallucinations on Parkinson's disease patients. Initial healthy subjects demonstrates comfort, effectiveness, this accurately identify footsteps while walking deliver complex vibration patterns high spatiotemporal resolution.
