ABSTRACT
Abstract Purpose Congenital aniridia is a serious eye disease characterized by absence of iris to various degrees. The aims this study were investigate health‐related quality life (HRQoL) in adults with and assess the relationships between HRQoL, psychological status, ocular health obesity. Methods Twenty‐nine congenital (48% male, aged 18–79 years) participated. HRQoL was measured SF‐36 EQ visual analogue scale (VAS). physical (PCS) mental (MCS) component summaries calculated higher scores indicating better HRQoL. Symptoms anxiety depression using Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS). Obesity assessed Patient‐Reported Outcomes (PROS). Sociodemographic characteristics, genetic variants medical variables also analysed. Results participants scored significantly lower general domain than population (65.2 vs. 75.3, p = 0.017). VAS score group (64.9 77.9, 0.021). Low PCS correlated presence pain ( 0.019), high HADS 0.017) PROS 0.009). MCS related educational level 0.038) < 0.001). High both low scores. Conclusion Adults worse on certain measures population. Poorer associated increased symptoms anxiety, obesity pain.
