ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper assesses the impact of level cooperatives’ vertical integration on financial performance smallholder rice farmers in North Central province, Sri Lanka. A sample 309 was surveyed using a structured questionnaire. The represented 152 partially and 157 fully integrated who are members vertically cooperatives, respectively. propensity score matching technique applied to correct for potential selection biases. Three indicators: cost production, operating profit sales revenue have been used. Results show better cooperatives except production. They receive higher than those cooperatives. However, production remains more comparable both groups farmers. Overall, findings this study suggest that smallholders can enhance their through integrated.
