ABSTRACT
The study aim was to analyse the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic intersphincteric resection with stapled coloanal anastomosis for low rectal cancer.Between March 2009 August 2010, 22 patients underwent a without diverting ileostomy. results were compared retrospectively hand-sewn anastomoses performed between January 2001 May 2009, which included 55 open 38 resections. morbidity comparison only data relevant anastomosis. Function using Saito function questionnaire Wexner score involved laparoscopy. The anastomotic complication rates similar fistula, bleeding neorectal mucosal prolapse (P = 0.526, P 0.653 0.411, respectively). Anastomotic leakage stricture formation significantly lower than those 0.037 0.028, There no significant differences in groups (all > 0.05).Laparoscopic is technically feasible less likely result
