ABSTRACT
Recently, a 22-gauge (G) needle with Franseen tip design was developed for endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB). The present study evaluated the performance of in EUS-guided tissue acquisition. This is retrospective patients who underwent EUS-FNB using needle. Lesions were sampled either only or after failed diagnostic aspiration (FNA). After rapid onsite evaluation (ROSE), two dedicated passes carried out histological assessment cell block technique. Main outcomes were: (i) rates adequacy ROSE and diagnosis; (ii) quality histology as determined by total area tumor percentage tissue.Thirty pancreatic other masses over 3-month period. Twenty-four lesions six FNA. Final diagnosis cancer 12, gastrointestinal stromal five, tumors four benign disease nine. Diagnostic 96.6% established 96.7% patients. Median 2.9 mm2 (IQR = 0.68-8.71 ) median 73.9% 44-97.6). Rates technical success adverse events 96.7 3.3%, respectively.Preliminary data suggest that yields material >95%
