ABSTRACT
To assess the clinical performance and patient acceptance of HemaSpot™ blood collection devices as an alternative method.Adult men women with any type diabetes, routinely carrying out self-monitoring glucose were recruited (n = 128). Participants provided a venous sample prepared two HemaSpot dried spots, one at clinics home. HbA1c analysis was by Tosoh G8 high-performance liquid chromatography. also completed questionnaire.Strong linear relationships been levels in spots observed model fitted to data. Time between spot preparation testing did not impact model. accepting approach: 69.2% would use this system if available 60.7% be more likely than going their general practitioner.The combination robust desiccating device, home return post produces data that support time-independent calibration .
