Treatment of psoriasis with topical agents: Recommendations from a Tuscany Consensus

ABSTRACT
Psoriasis is a chronic and relapsing inflammatory skin disease, clinically characterized by erythematous scaly plaques. Treatment approach mainly driven disease severity, though several factors should be considered in order to identify the optimal therapeutic choice. Mild psoriasis may treated with wide array of topical agents including corticosteroids, vitamin D analogs, keratolytics, calcipotriol/betamethasone propionate compound. Because guidelines not provide practical indications regarding approach, use more individually tailored. In homogenize standard care, at least local setting, we collected real-life-based recommendations for therapies from an expert panel, Tuscany Consensus Group on Psoriasis, representing all leading centers established Tuscany. With this document, consensus group sought define principles guiding selection straightforward derived real-life setting.
