ABSTRACT
Objective With improving survival rates, it is becoming increasingly important to understand the psychological aspect and needs of young cancer patients survivors. Our goal was describe self-reported levels distress, subjective illness experience Slovenian Methods Seventy-nine participants, aged 19–39 years, answered questionnaires about anxiety, depression, mental defeat, worry their learning diagnosis being treated. We used visualisations demonstrate relationship between anxiety depression. The qualitative responses were summarised using a content analysis approach. Results Twenty-eight (35%) participants scored in clinical range for fifteen (19%) Cancer-related common (85% reported at least one worry). Mental defeat positively associated with measures distress. Those who felt negative emphasised need more time, empathy dignity. Psychological support during seen as crucial. Conclusion Anxiety depression remain problem subset patients. Medical professionals working people should encourage warm atmosphere they attend patients’ concerns.
